LARGE MARIE THERESE AKA “BETTY BLUE”
We have lovingly restored this is a stunning vintage Marie Therese chandelier to its former opulent glory and beyond by adding an abundance of vintage rich royal blue crystals, clear cut buttons, pears and prisms. We’ve enjoyed the process of bringing this beautiful chandelier ‘to life’ we’ve affectionately named it Betty Blue.
This beautiful chandelier has a stunning cut glass central column nestled amongst 8 glass clad arms which house 12 drip trays for the light bulbs. The chandelier is laden with faceted royal blue vintage pear drops and buttons, crystal clear vintage prisms and swags of clear, cut glass buttons. Every crystal has been hand cleaned and their connector pins checked and replaced as required.
Unlike the more modern imitations, there is something very special about the older vintage prisms and how they capture and reflect the light. These antique prisms/drops are weighted and lustrous, giving testimony to both their inimitable quality and considerable age. Some prisms will have natural inclusions, nibbling and age consistent ware but as shown in the photographs, none of this detracts from the overall presence of this luxurious unique piece.
